Since 1963, our college has offered educational services. Through decades of dedicated teaching-learning activities, we have achieved excellence. We, the college’s teaching and non-teaching professionals, commit to deliver excellence via all-round holistic education as a team.
The College was established in 1963 in the memory of Sir Mathuradas Vissanji, Sheth Laherchand Uttamchand Jhaveri and Shri Jivanlal Chinai by their descendant Shri Pratapsingh Vissanji, Shri Pratap Bhogjlal and Shri Rasiklal Chinai with the aim of providing quality and value based education to the students in suburbs.


Matinee Tadka is an inter-college event started by the BMM Department of Laxmi Charitable Trusts MVLU College, since 2009. Lead by HOD Manisha Sayani the two-day fest is attended by 400+ students from various colleges across the city, who participate in more than 10 different contests and competitions. The department works with complete dedication, determination, and passion to come up with unique themes and idea that revolve around trending & contemporary issues. Our highlights include intensive street play, gripping short film, superbike rallies and much more. We have constantly strived over the years to include diverse events for all students to participate and make it a grand success.

VIBES is the Inter-Collegiate Fest of M.V.L.U. College comprising of many Indoor & Outdoor events and games. VIBES has emerged a well recognized platform for students and various colleges to participate and register their talent. It was held on 18 Dec to 20 Dec 2017. Events: Box-Cricket, Rink-Football, Badminton, Table-tennis, Carrom, Chess, Dance, Singing, Rapping Gaming Events- NFS & Counter Strike, Mobile-Events- Mini-Militia & Clash Royale, CEC (Code Execution Championship). This year we had respected police officers from Mumbai police as our chief guests. Our judges Mr. Bihag Mehta who is known for his guitar skills and is an appreciated singer accompanied with our second judge Ms. Sargam Thakur who is a vocalist and musician. We had Choreographers Mr. Gaurav Sonavane and Mr. Geet Das as our judges with excellent dancing skills. We had Mr. Afriz Qureshi as our judge, a member of “Klassimo Music Group”. Done three advertisement rapping for Datamatics Financial Services Ltd. We appreciate their dedication and the arduous task they had in determining the finalists and, ultimately there were two winners selected at first prize. We also had a live guest performance of hip-hop, by “Smokinskillz crew“, also a standup comedian guest performance by Shubham Singh. Our college Director Ma’am Mrs. Jyoti Gaitonde and Dept. Coordinators heartily welcomed the students and awarded the winners with Prizes, Trophies and cash prizes.

Being academically oriented, TYIT students visited- “ISRO Space Exhibition” held in Matunga, during the month of December-2018. Students got the opportunity to explore the syllabus topic- Geographic Information System in a more meaningful way. Students witnessed the history of Indian Space Vehicles & rockets through the documentary shown in the exhibition. FYIT students had an industrial visit to Trans Thane Creek Waste Management Association (TTCWMA) in the month of February 2019. Students were briefed about the e-waste recycling and management in an eco-friendly way. IT students visited Centre for Excellence in Telecom Technology and Management (CETTM), MTNL, POWAI in January 2018. They gained knowledge on Telecom switching, wireless communication, Broadband , CDMA and Telecom Exchange Systems.

Sports day is an annual event of M.V.L.U. College. College students and college staffs are the participate of the sports meet. Aim is to give support to college students to participate in the game, to make them involve and boost their confidence. Highlights: Inter College Events: 100-m running, Sack-race, Relay-race, Kabaddi, Cricket and Football. Winners of the each game is awarded medals, Trophies and cash prizes. The winner team of Cricket and Football games supported by college to participate in Inter College and University level events.

This year the theme of Vibes 2017 was based on Cyber Crime Awareness . The aim of Cyber Crime awareness is to make the netizens aware about the cyber crime which occurs over the internet worldwide. Team Vibes took the responsibility to spread the awareness about cyber crime through our event.
